Hi, I’m Sara, known online as Glamourphile, a UK-based nail technician, artist, and educator with a passion for creativity and quality in every aspect of nail work.

My work has been featured by leading platforms including Scratch Magazine, Good Morning America, Fox News, Tyla, Newsweek, Pop Sugar Beauty, and more something I’m incredibly proud of.

Alongside my salon work, I’ve had the opportunity to collaborate as a content creator for top industry brands, which has given me deep insight into the professional world of nails.

With a background in business and administration, I’ve always been driven to uphold and elevate industry standards. Education was the natural next step, and that’s exactly what brought me here: to help the next generation of nail professionals thrive.

Today a super simple look. I don’t use foil enough. It’s so effective and quick to create a perfect nail art look. Also trying out @nailorder new foil gel and I can confirm it is great! 60 second cure, I like letting mine cool for 30 seconds before applying the foil.

I created this nail art design a couple of years ago and didn’t think it was good enough to post.

What does that show us?
That we’re our own worst critics.

Is there anything wrong with this cowboy boot?
Nope.

Did I think there was?
Absolutely.

Our brains like to lie to us sometimes.
Moral of the story: just post the nails.

Worst case? You’ll look back later and see how much you’ve improved — and that’s never a bad thing.

My Top Tips for a Flawless Isolated Chrome

Want that crisp, mirror-like chrome that actually lasts? Here’s how I get mine perfect every time.

1. Always start with a matte base — but not a no-wipe matte top, or your chrome will still cling where you don’t want it.
My fave method? Buff the surface of the nail instead for a smooth, controlled application.
2. Use a high-quality chroming gel paint — my go-to is @homeofnailart
3. Choose top-tier chromes, I love @magpie_beauty for that unbeatable shine.
4. Before top coat, seal the free edge with primer to lock in that chrome for longer wear.

💅 Mastering isolated chrome takes precision, but once you nail it (pun intended), it’s a total game-changer.

If your gel polish looks rippled, wrinkled, or uneven after curing, it’s a sign the product hasn’t cured properly beneath the surface. 🙈

Common causes:
• Applying layers too thickly.
• Using the wrong or incompatible lamp.
• Uneven hand placement in the lamp.

Retention is how well your product sticks to the natural nail. If it’s not bonding right, you’ll see lifting, peeling, or nails popping clean off.

Bad retention usually comes down to:

✨ Product applied too thick, thin, or flooding the cuticle.
✨ Clients picking, biting or skipping aftercare.
